SCS Sketch #SC1129

I have been part of the Sketch team on Splitcoaststampers for a few years now. Whether it's my week to create the sketch (the first Wednesday of each month) or I'm creating a sample card based on the sketch someone else created, I find that having a sketch to use can get my creative ideas flowing.

There is a new sketch to work with every Wednesday. I encourage you to check them out.

Kim created this week's sketch - #SC1129:

Spellbinders Desk-Top Calendar

I have been honored to do some guest designing for Spellbinders this month featuring items from their Esther Glas release. This is my fourth and final blog post featuring these items for Spellbinders.

Today's items were especially fun for me. I used the Torn Edges CardLab Etched Die Set to make a desk-top calendar. I plan to add pages behind each month with the birthdays of my friends and family members.

Spellbinders also has a CardLab Box that can be decorated and assembled to hold the cards. Although I didn't receive that item as a guest designer I did purchase one and plan to make it in the near future to hold my calendar.

I think this set of dies and box would also be a great way to have favorite recipes closer at hand.

Spellbinders Mixed Media Page

I have been honored to do some guest designing for Spellbinders this month featuring items from their Esther Glas release. The products are perfect for junk journaling, mixed media and such, but I think they work well for cards, as well so most of the items I've made have been cards.

There is a collection of dies and other products that coordinate together to make mixed media journaling pages and more. I used the Torn Edges with Tag Etched Die Set and the paper reinforcers from the Torn Edges CardLab Etched Die Set to make this page.

Spellbinders Torn Edges with Tag

I have been honored to do some guest designing for Spellbinders this month featuring items from their Esther Glas release. The products are perfect for junk journaling, mixed media and such, but I think they work well for cards, as well so most of the items I've made have been cards, as you'll see in this blog post and others this month.

I used the Torn Edges with Tag Etched Die Set for today's card. You'll notice it's really intended for journaling, junk journaling, scrapbooking, mixed media kinds of things, but if one thinks outside the box it can also be used to make cards.

'tis the Season is from the Spellbinders House Mouse Merry Little Christmas stamp set.

Spellbinders Number Field - Surprise

I have been honored to do some guest designing for Spellbinders this month featuring items from their Esther Glas release. The products are perfect for junk journaling, mixed media and such, but I think they work well for cards, as well so most of the items I've made have been cards, as you'll see in this blog post and others this month.

I love the 3D embossing folder in this release - Number Field. I used it on a layered card which you can see HERE if you missed that blog post.

This time I did some ink blending and added a fun sentiment from the Spellbinders House Mouse Rare Bloom stamp set. Then I decided to add some googly eyes for a playful look.

Creative Crew 2026 - August

It's posting day for the Creative Crew. What exactly is the Creative Crew? We are a group of 6 card-making friends from various US locations who have a fun monthly creative adventure with a secretive twist.

Most months one of the group's members hosts each month. As host, she chooses a theme and then sends each of the group members a theme-appropriate image and some designer paper. The host can also include a sentiment and/or special item if she chooses to do so. The group members all receive the same items, but there is to be no conversation about what was received or the cards we're making. Then, on the 15th of the month, we all reveal our cards.

The last month of each round we do things a little differently. Barb randomly selects a color combination card from her Color Cubes and I create a sketch. Then each of us use our own supplies to create a card with those colors and that sketch.

This month's color combination:
